Size is your consideration which HTC device to buy this Fall? Â CNET Asia has some photos of the HTC Touch HD as compared to the Touch Diamond and Touch Pro handsets. While the Touch HD may look monstrous, keep in mind that the Diamond is almost deceptively small. Â Same for the Pro, except that its slide-out keyboard gives it a fair amount of extra thickness.

With the biggest differences between the Touch HD and both the Diamond and Pro being the larger 3.8 inch screen, 5 megapixel camera and higher resolution 800 x 480 px screen (WVGA), for some users nothing beats a hardware keyboard. On the thickness comparison, the HTC Touch HD (115 x 62.8 x 12 mm ) about the same as the same as HTC Touch Diamond (102 x 51 x 11.5 mm).

The iYo is a yoyo-powered induction charger for your iPhone. It definitely brings more fun to charging your iPhone as what you need to do is to keep playing with the yoyo and it’ll produce electricity for juicing up your iPhone. Basically the iYo converts the mechanical energy of the yo-yo into electrical energy and delivers it to your device.

The concept occurred to Swedish designer Peter Thuvander when he realized solar power wasn’t the best green option for charging his iPhone in a country that averages less than eight hours of sunlight a day in eight months of the year (one hour in November, December and January). The generator is similar to that of Gizoo’s wind up universal remote. The colorful schematic also shows you clearly the internal structure of the iYo induction charger – how the magnet, rotating shells and batteries are arranged, so you could grab a picture on how the electricity is produced by induction while the shells and magnet are rotating.

Now you can stay connected to your facebook or myspace friends while working in your kitchen. Adam Brodowski from USA has designed “Sookâ€, a wireless kitchen assistant concept.  This device is for those who want to cook, but still want to stay connected to social networking sites like Facebook or Myspace. This is the concept device known as the “Sook,†which I can only assume is some word blend of “social†and “cookâ€.

Sung Bae Chang claims that people will be able to take the Scan Toaster into work, hook it up to their computer and download articles and images, creating the ultimate easily digestible news. “I got the idea from looking at my scanner and printer beside my computer,” he said. “I was chatting to my friends and suddenly thought ‘how about scanning a piece of toasting bread?’ and then started to brainstorm the idea.” Adam Brodowski’s Sook uses a series of sensors to detect what food is on or near its cutting board and measures weight and moisture. Its “electronic tongue” then digitises the taste to come up with the best combination. When it is all ready, the unit will upload a photograph and the recipe on to a social networking site. read more…
Nokia’s E75 QWERTY slider spotted in the wild by Chris Ziegler, posted Sep 21st 2008 at 10:39AM. Similar to the new e-series business phone, the Nokia E75 back cover is also done in metallic mirror feel. Perhaps in response to the success of HTC’s [HTCKF] slider phones, Nokia [NOK] is reportedly developing a new slider device called the E75. The designation “slider†refers to the slide-open form factor that reveals a full QWERTY keyboard, which can be stowed away inside the phone when only the number pad is needed.

According to the source, the Nokia E75 has a 2.4-inch display screen, 3.2 megapixel camera and built in WiFi. The backside of the device, like on many of NOK’s phones, takes after a digital camera in appearance, suggesting a flash and 4-or 5MP picture quality. read more…
