Snapture Brings Flash

Snapture Labs has introduced the Snapture Flash, a camera flash unit for the iPhone. The Snapture Flash sleeve features a Xenon bulb which is not only about 100X as bright as an LED, but apparently doesn’t drain the battery as much since it’s not constantly on. In fact, with the iPhone’s battery you can take about 1,000+ photos using the Snapture Flash, which takes about 3 seconds to recharge between shots.

A 320V 13μF capacitor is claimed to provide illumination 100 times brighter than conventional LED modules, while offering over 1000 captures in one charge. SnaptureFlash is still in the prototype stage and is awaiting manufacture. The company has not yet provided a time-frame for public release or an estimated price.

Nokia Launches Handset E-mail, Simplifies Ovi Platform

Nokia has officially unveiled its Mail on Ovi service “live”, ready to be used on Series 40 handsets. The service includes Nokia’s free email account. Nokia also established a single login procedure for various Ovi features, replacing the old cumbersome system, which required a separate sign-in for each feature. Nokia announced its Mail on Ovi service a few months ago, pointing to the emerging markets as the motivation since personal computers are not as common in those markets. The Mail on Ovi service is free and offers users up to 1GB of online storage, with integrated junk mail filtering. During the Beta period, consumers will be able to choose from 12 languages based on the settings of their device. The languages currently supported include English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Hindi, Bengali, Tagalog, Bahasa Indonesia and Bahasa Malaysia

Is This the T-Mobile Dash 2?

The T-Mobile Dash has always been a popular but low profile device. There’s just a hold of a brand-new-looking T-Mobile Dash photo.  Spotted here is what appears to the T-Mobile Dash 2 Windows Mobile smartphone all wrapped up in a beautiful black paint job. From what we know, the Dash 2 gets preloaded with Windows Mobile 6 and rocks Wi-Fi for its high-speed data needs. We can’t say for sure, but it’s also possible that T-Mobile compatible 3G connectivity has also been thrown into the mix. That’s possible, but somehow I think it’s unlikely. Each and every button is in the same place as the original Dash, leading us to lean on the “Dash refresh” side rather than declaring it a second coming of the Dash.

Is This the T-Mobile Dash 2?

We’re waiting for confirmation on whether this is just a color refresh or if this unit has 3G added to it.
