Sharp is due to release its SH001 handset in Japan for use on KDDI’s CDMA 1X WIN 3G network. Set to available through KDDi telecom from later this year, this clamshell phone is actually targeted at 20 – 30 year old females. Â The device packs in a 8 Megapixel camera and has majority of functions you would expect from an entry level digital camera. Sharp has loaded it with ‘ProPix’ a proprietary picture conversion engine, auto focus and face recognition. As an additional features include 740MB of internal memory but equips a Micro SD card (up to 2GB supported), GPS with Easy Nabi walk, music download service, a mobile ASV WVGA screen, E-wallet, and a visual area of 3-inch 26 million colors, 480 x 854 pixel resolution of ASV LCD screen.
To make clearer conversations in busy area, a noise-canceling feature is built-in, along with a “Slow Talk” button will let users better understand callers by slowing down their speech. Sony Ericsson announced the S001 slider phone for the KDDI network in Japan. The phone hails from the Cyber-shot series which is stuffed with all the photography goodness. It has an 8.1-megapixel EXMOR CMOS sensor with LED flash and autofocus, high sensitivity shooting up to ISO1600, Smile Shutter, Face recognition, image stabilizer, Best Pic and random scene recognition which automatically selects a scene and adjusts exposure and white balance settings. Â Available in Black, Green/Gold, and Pink at a size of 51×115x17.8mm and weight of 145g.
Unlike the S001 that wouldn’t work outside of Japan: Sony Ericsson have seen fit to give it GSM/CDMA connectivity, allowing KDDI’s “global passport†roaming system to work. Nokia unveiled the Nokia 6700 classic, the Nokia 6303 classic and the Nokia 2700 classic, three devices that build on the formula that made Nokia the world leader in mobile phones.
First in line comes Nokia 6700, delivering smooth surfaces, rich materials and precisely-crafted parts, as well as a full metal keymat. The handset includes a 5-megapixel camera, along with GPS navigation with Nokia Maps and high-speed data access capabilities. The phone is expected to come to the market at a price tag of EUR 235, before taxes and subsidies.
Nokia 6303 classic is also a candybar that will ship at about the same time with the 6700, but for a lower price: €135 ($178). The 6303 offers a 2.2 inch display, a 3.2 MP camera, pre-loaded Nokia Maps, a 3.5mm headset jack and “excellent battery performanceâ€. read more…
