BlueBerry clone surfaces

A new and rather clever BlackBerry rip-off comes from China. It’s called BlueBerry, and by the looks of it closely resembles the popular Bold model. The BlueBerry is a clone of the Bold which copies most of the design from the Bold, excepts it may have omitted a couple of buttons. And also they’ve also forgotten the trackball on this BlueBerry device. But, a silver button is used to replace the trackball. The BlueBerry has a QVGA display, microSD card slot and it’s got two slots for SIM cards. It’s a dual SIM phone which provides the convenience without needing to remove battery cover for switching to different network operators when one signal is weak. And the cost is just $164.99

Not sure if that’s a trackball or is just supposed to look like one. That’s the problem with knockoffs. You just can’t trust a clone man.

A Couple New T-Mobile Sidekicks on the Way

Once T-Mobile’s Sidekick had one of the better keyboards on a phone, and the phone’s ability to google something was out of the ordinary. However, the original concept and form factor of the Sidekick is still a pretty sweet one and it certainly has a place among top mobile phones if its technical shortcomings can be redeemed.  Now, a company called Personal Communications Devices (PCD), may have given away the news that two versions of the Sidekick are to hit T-Mobile in 2009. On the one hand, these new mobile messaging phones could simply be special editions of the existing Sidekick iD or Sidekick 3. On the other hand, they could be making a whole new Sidekick altogether. A new Quickfire for AT&T will include easy-to-use phones for senior citizens, QWERTY keyboard phones for heavy users of text messaging and email, and ruggedized phones for business and consumers.

A Couple New T Mobile Sidekicks on the WayIf you recall, the previous models did not have 3G, Wi-Fi, or a full HTML browser. Hopefully, that the new Sidekick at least tacks on standard goods like 3G, Wi-Fi, and GPS. Every smartphone is doing those things these days.
