Google has added tracking software to its Google Maps service called Latitude. Mobile users can now grab the latest version of Google Maps for their handheld devices which offers the new Latitude feature. Latitude is tightly linked in with Google Talk and e-mail applications so you can quickly get in touch with people after seeing where they are on the map. Latitude is part of the Google Maps 3.0 software update, and will initially only be available on BlackBerry mobile phones and those devices running the Windows Mobile and Symbian S60 operating systems.

There are two primary ways to use Latitude right now:
1. On your mobile phone: to download Google Maps for mobile with Latitude just visit google.com/latitude from your phone’s mobile browser.They said that Latitude currently support most of the popular smartphone platforms: Android, Blackberry, Symbian S60, and Windows Mobile, and we are hoping to see Latitude on the iPhone soon. Virgin Mobile USA seems getting ready to launch the X-tc by Kyocera. Virgin Mobile that recently  released  the Helio Ocean 2 and they will also be offering  Kyocera X-tc, an affordable slider handset with a full QWERTY keyboard .
The Kyocera X-tc also has other features relatively large: a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, a QVGA display of 262k colors. Current pricing is $99.99 (prepaid) with free activation and ground shipping. Â The price also includes shipping and activation, but unfortunately for the residents in the United States.

A new G1 firmware update has appeared. T-Mobile is rolling out an update to the T-Mobile G1! The new update is RC33 and sadly is not the Cupcake update we’ve all been waiting for. Though it isn’t quite cupcake, RC33 still packs a few goodies: Google Voice Search, for one. And it will reportedly allow saving images via a long press, a manual update check process, and of course, bug fixes.
The updates should be available on February 15th. According to TMOnews, “This OTA will include new system enhancements such as the ability to save pictures or files to file by long-pressing an item, check for system updates, and use the Google Voice Search feature. The OTA will also fix a number of known issues. New G1 activations will receive the OTA up to three days after service has been activated.â€
