Music enthusiasts in the United States will be able to acquire a US 3G Nokia 5800 XpressMusic from the company’s Flagship stores. The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic NAM has been reported a while ago. Starting  February 26 Nokia 5800 Xpress Music will go on sale through the retailers  being the suggested price of 399$.
The North American variant features quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) support, as well as dual-band UMTS (850/1900MHz) support for North American 3G networks such as AT&T and Rogers. Nokia 5800 with US 3G support to be launched this month for $399. Although Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is already available in the US, it’s only the European version that can be bought – for $349.99.

The BlackBerry 8230 is now showing up on Best Buy Canada for the Telus network. Best Buy has just posted it online and it looks like it the no contract price will be $499.99. Â Best Buy has them on their site in both black and pink.

ASU’s Flexibile Display Centre and military partners have produced the first active-matrix display with a flexible touchscreen. Based on active-matrix electrophoretic display technology from E-Ink Corp. (Cambridge, Mass.) The new flexible touchscreen uses materials supplied by DuPont Teijin Films, which manufacturers the plastic used as a substitute for glass in conventional touchscreens. The flexible touchscreen display supports real-time user input either by stylus pen or by touch, and consumes power only when the electronic paper is activated. Once sketched on the display, information can be stored or sent wirelessly before erasing.

The new display paves the way for larger applications, such as in interactive e-newspapers that save paper while bringing lots of information to users and allow them to be folded up for carrying and storage. read more…
Mozilla, developers of the popular Firefox web browser, have launched a new related service, Weave. Now with Weave, you  can have an easy access any of the pages you were browsing on your desktop installation of Firefox from your mobile browser. Mozilla’s Weave service basically tracks the webpages and tabs that you have open in your desktop Firefox browser. The folks from Mozilla have demonstrated this ability by using Fennec, the mobile version of Firefox, and syncing it with a browser that’s already open on a remote desktop.

Users need only create a Weave account to download the add-on and get started. On the left sidebar of Fennec, where your tabs appear, is a new Weave button. read more…
