The premium  battery life should last up to one month in stand-by. Nokia Intros Three New Low-Enders

Nokia released not only one, but three new low-end handsets in various forms aimed to date from the world’s top handset maker.  The new models announced are the Nokia 2730 classic, Nokia 2720 fold and Nokia 7020.

The 2730 Classic is a classic candybar phone featuring a decent spec sheet. It comes packed with a 2-inch QVGA (320*240) display, a micro USB connector, 30MB of expandable memory and Bluetooth 2.0. The phone is 3G ready and supports EDGE as well. The camera is a 2 megapixel unit with 4x digital zoom. The phone also comes with a standard 3.5mm jack. The new 2730 Classic is expected to retail for 80 euros ($108), excluding taxes and operator subsidies, and go on sale from the third quarter of this year.

Palm Pre To Launch First Week Of June: Report

Sprint Nextel will launch the Palm Pre in the first week of June, according to a report in the New York Times. The launch date has been the subject of intense speculation on the Internet and for those following Sprint and Palm.

The Times wasn’t more specific, but said the information came from people briefed with Sprint and Palm’s plans. Palm and Sprint have said all along that the device will be available by the end of the first half. June 30 would be the last possible day the two companies could launch the device to make that self-imposed deadline. Speculation has mounted that the launch may come on June 7, the day before Apple’s WWDC conference, where the company may unveil the latest version of the iPhone.

Samsung i7500 (or Galaxy) hits France before United States

Bouygues Telecom’s announced that they will be the first carrier to launch and  ship the company’s first Android handset, Samsung Galaxy in early July. Specs are  identical to the already announced Samsung i7500, it is pretty obvious that “Galaxy” is simply France’s carrier branded name for the phone.
