Orange UK To Get HTC Hero Exclusive?

Informed speculation is that the upcoming HTC Hero Android phone will be exclusive to Orange UK. If this proves true, it would be the provider’s first Android-based handset, and is expected to be released sometime in 2009. The HTC Hero will feature HSDPA connectivity, bluetooth, a 3-mega-pixel camera, and more importantly a custom built HTC user interface. The device is said to be hitting the USA in August, but currently we have no date lined up for the UK landing. Also,  Vodafone have already snapped up the exclusivity of the second Android powered phone, the HTC Magic, which was launched in on 1 May. No pricing information has been released for the phone.

Samsung S5050 appears in press photos

Samsung S5050 is a mobile phone in the bar form factor. The Samsung S5050 was announced in February when the Korean manufacturer decided to do a well-placed leak before MWC 2009.  The S5050 is quite similar to the S5200 that was announced in Russia today, both in design and when it comes to features. As its first  early reported the phone has a 2.2-inch AMOLED QVGA display. OLED displays tend to be clearer than LCDs and have lower power consumption meaning better battery life. OLED displays on mobile phones are rare, found only on a handful of top-end phones. It does catch the eye and the design, with it’s pink-ish flair should make it a hit with female customers.

The other specs of Samsung S5050 include:
*Quad-band GSM/EDGE connectivity
*Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP
*FM radio with RDS
*3.2MP autofocus camera with LED flash
*40MB of internal memory
*MicroSDHC card support, up to 8GB
