Sony Ericsson’s first Android device will run the as-yet unreleased version 2.0 of the Google platform.VP of Marketing, Peter Ang, said that the their Android handset would be coming out soon with version 2 of Android, along with their own personal tweaks. At the time, no specific plans for releasing a handset had been made public, though a rumor followed shortly after that the first SE device based on the open-source OS would hit the market in summer 2009. Ang added that the device will have Sony Ericsson’s unique style and though he did not elaborate on what exactly that meant, he did refer to the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 and its use of the interactive panel interface. SE confirmed that they’ll still be continuing their work on Windows Mobile along with Android.
T-Mobile USA is set to launch another affordable Samsung phone called the t239. It is slated to be available this month at the price point of $59.99 for a prepaid service or free on a two year contract.
Specifications are due to include dual band GSM connectivity 850/1900 MHz, a 177 x 220 pixels TFT display, a speakerphone, Bluetooth support, a VGA camera and 10MB of internal memory. T-Mobile’s myFaves unlimited calling to five numbers will be supported, as will Web2go. The t239 is a slider that comes in two color versions; dark scarlet and grey. And from the looks of it, there will be a free $25 refill card used for their prepaid service when you purchase it.
The mid-level Samsung S5200, spotted for the first time a few weeks ago, will be available for the retail price of €129.99 ($182) – in the Netherlands, at least. It is predicted that  European markets will get it at about  the possible June 3  release as AllAboutPhones.nl, explained thath the handset will be sold via the Dutch retailer BelCompany, starting next week.
The Samsung S5200 comes with a 2.1-inch TFT QVGA display that features support for 16 million colors, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper that includes power LED flash, Bluetooth connectivity and a Music player. All of that is nicely packed into its tiny shell measuring 103.6 x 48.7 x 10.9 millimeters.
