Microsoft announced Windows 7 retail pricing, upgrade information, launch details, and a preorder deal. The largest and most interesting price cut is for folks who preorder Windows 7 right away: In the U.S, you’ll be able to reserve a copy from Best Buy, Amazon, or the Microsoft Store at a discount of more than 50 percent. This preorder price for the upgrade version of Windows 7 Home Premium, for instance, will be $49.99, versus a list price of $119.99.
Preliminary versions of Windows 7 have been greeted favorably. Reviewers cite new features such as simpler home networking and a “snap” functionality that lets users quickly adjust open windows to half the size of the screen by dragging them against the side. Software and hardware vendors are looking to take advantage of Windows 7’s touch-screen technologies and other new features.
Microsoft said Windows 7 will be available in 14 languages: English, Spanish, Japanese, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Chinese (Hong Kong). It will be available on October 31 in 21 other languages: Turkish, Czech, Portuguese, Hungarian, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Greek, Ukrainian, Romanian, Arabic, Lithuanian, Bulgarian, Estonian, Slovenian, Hebrew, Thai, Croatian, Serbian Latin, and Latvian. Upgrade pricing for Windows 7 is available to current users of Windows XP and Vista, although people on the older operating system will need to conduct a “clean install,” which doesn’t preserve existing data or programs as a standard upgrade process does.
Google has unveiled the beta version of its Adsense for Mobile Application advertising campaign for mobile applications on Apple’s iPhone and Android phones.Mobile application developers can make some extra income from Google ad integration and advertisers can get more targeting customer’s when they are engaged with the application. With AdSense for Mobile Applications now in beta, Google joins other companies such as AdMob in the push toward in-application advertisin. Backgrounds, Sega, Shazam, and Urbanspoon were among those who tested the offering in the trial phase.

Verizon has now announced its own version of HTC’s latest WinMo Standard handset as the HTC “Ozone.”. As expected, the full QWERTY candybar will run you $49.99 on contract after rebates.
HTC “Ozone” uses CDMA and EVDO Rev A for calls and 3G, it has quad-band GSM and EDGE support for calls and 2G data in most parts of the world. The so-called Ozone features a 2-megapixel camera, VZ Navigator and visual voicemail support a microSDHC slot that holds up to 16GB, and a beefy 1500mAh battery. Sony Ericsson has unveiled its new T715 slider and will start offering it in Q3 this year. An ultra compact slider mobile phone, the T715 still offers a large keypad and font size allowing you to get the most out of your SMS, MMS or email management. The T715 has a metallic appearance, thanks to its “high-class finish”, and comes with a new UI feature, dubbed “smart desktop”.
Mid range in its feature set, the Sony Ericsson T715 comes packs a 3.2-megapixel camera and 3G connectivity, plus a 2.2-inch screen. It also allows for geo-tagging of photos, to give your photos that extra bit of value when you get to consigning them to the memory box. It’ll be using cell site data rather than GPS though. Dimensions are measured in at 91.5 x 48 x 14.9mm and the weight is just shy of 97g. You’ve got 90MB of memory on board, which is expandable via Micro SD.
