LG Electronics is launching an online store for mobile phone applications on 14 July, with an initial focus on Asia and aspirations for a more global reach by year-end. Australia and Singapore will become the first country who will get LG Application Store. While, other Asian countries will be added soon – 15 different languages will be supported. LG Application Store will provide 2,000 apps available by year end and targeted for windows mobile devices. Currently, the developer site supports the Java software development kit and will support a virtual developer lab and over-the-air downloads for widgets by the end of the year, according to LG. The Store currently provides apps for Windows Mobile only – LG GM730 and LG KS20 – and it’s not clear yet when other handsets will be added.
“LG is more successful in Europe than the U.S. and will go after the market with the highest penetration first,” said Rob Enderle, principal analyst with the Enderle Group. “In Europe the open nature of the market works better for LG and they have a lot more freedom.”
Wireless carrier T-Mobile USA is gearing up for the release of a few more devices during July, among them are Samsung T469 and Samsung T559 models. It became known that the model called Samsung T559 Comeback will be on sale for 15 July.In addition, the source has a few pictures Samsung T559 Comeback phone in two colors: purple and red. Samsung T559 Comeback is designed for fans of text messaging. Other features that the Samsung T559 Comeback should also include would be a 2-megapipxel photo snapper, with auto focus, a Bluetooth connectivity, a GPS receiver and a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space.

The Nokia Surge was announced today by Nokia and AT&T, coming as a “Symbian S60 handset” that “offers social style with smartphone capabilities at a low price.” Nokia Surge packs a 2.4″ 16M-color display of QVGA resolution. Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and dual-band UMTS with HSDPA 3.6Mbps support provide the network data transfers, while Bluetooth, USB and a 2.5 mm audio jack cover the local connectivity.
