Back in February at MWC2011, Acer announced the Acer Iconia Smart 4.8? phone/tablet hybrid. Acer recently confirmed (again) that the smartphone will be available for purchase in Germany for €499 sometime in September.The Smart features a particularly tall display measuring 4.8 inches from corner to corner, with 1024×480 resolution. Acer Iconia Smart, an Android device running version 2.3.x Gingerbread, and rolling out with a single-core 1GHz Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm. You will get an 8-megapixel camera at the back, while a 2-megapixel front-facing camera will cater for all your video call needs. Furthermore, the Iconia Smart is bundled with Java script optimization and Adobe Flash Player 10.3 support, as well as ultra-fast high-speed connectivity via HSDPA (14.4 Mbps) and WiFi N for data connection.

Acer Germany’s official Facebook page suggests the European variant will carry a €499 (~$700 USD) price tag.
