Amazon officially announced its previously leaked Kindle DX wireless reading device. The DX had all its details leaked a day before the official announcement and all we need now better pictures of the new device and the official price. The Kindle DX packs with textbook publishers, universities, and major newspapers lining up to test the larger version of the retailer’s original electronic book reader as a delivery tool for digital content.
The Kindle DX features a large 9.7-inch e-ink screen with 16 shades of gray and auto-rotate capability; built-in PDF reader and 3.3GB memory for holding up to 3500 books. To view PDF documents, all you have to do is e-mail the files to your Kindle e-mail address or transfer them via the USB connection. The reader includes also built-in 250,000 word New Oxford American Dictionary, Text-to-speech technology that converts words on a page to spoken word and web serch function.
The price is set at $489, which is not bad compared to the $359 6″ Kindle
