Apple has updated their Remote application for the iPhone and iPod Touch to version 1.1. The free application adds remote control capabilities for both iTunes and your Apple TV through your local Wi-Fi network connection. Using Remote you can scroll through playlists, artists, genres and search your music. In addition, the remote will show you the album artwork of the current song and allow you to adjust star ratings and other settings, just like you would on an iPod. According to the release notes, you will now be able to create a Genius playlist, and create/edit playlists in iTunes. This application (and its update) is a free download from the iTunes App Store. TUAW hasn’t been able to dig up much else in their exploration of the app, but its a nice little feature update.
