AT&T today announced the Pantech Breeze, a device aimed for novice or first-time mobile phone owners to customers looking to simplify the overall user experience. Pantech Breeze has a pretty nice overall look, but it seems designed to be easy to use. Pantech’s VP of Marketing and Sales, Patrick Beattie, said that Breeze underlines the handset maker’s commitment to all levels of customers. “By incorporating AT&T’s socially responsible Universal Design model, this product speaks directly to people needing a down-to-earth handset that provides easy access to core features,” he added. The Breeze is designed for people needing an easy way to stay in touch with friends, caregivers and loved ones. Hence it comes with: a simple user interface, an internal color display said to be “extra large” (although it has only about 2 inches), an external display for quickly viewing info like unread messages in incoming calls, hearing aid compatibility, plus “EZ One-Touch” keys that should help you make calls fast and easy. Other features that Pantech Breeze offers consists of quad-band GSM connectivity with EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0, a VGA photo camera, email, Instant Messaging, Web surfing capabilities, embedded games and a battery capable of providing up to three hours of talk-time and up to 10 days of stand-by time. The handset weighs 3.4 ounces (96 grams) and, when closed, it measures 4.0 x 2.0 x 0.7 inches (102 x 51 x 18 millimeters). The Pantech Breeze is like the little brother that your Motorola RAZR2 never had, and you can have one of these now for only $50 USD after 2-year contract and a mail-in rebate.
