Blackbrerry Storm is not a new device after all. You already familiar with this Blackberry device as Blackberry Thunder. The tech blog “Engadget” showed the packaging for the new touchscreen-operated BlackBerry 9530 - RIM’s first device with no physical keyboard. Now called the Storm in the U.S. market, the phone will be released on Verizon Wireless later this year. Wondering what happened to the Thunder name? Blackberry rename the Thunder to Storm specially for Verizon. Engadget reveals that the Thunder moniker isn’t disappearing entirely, but that it is merely being reserved for the Rogers Wireless launch in Canada, as well as Vodafone in Europe. The SIM card will come pre-installed, along with an 8GB MicroSD card for storage purposes. The GSM/CDMA-capable phone was last cited as having a October 13th release, according to a leaked screenshot of a store inventory system.
