Both the Bold and Pearl Flip have been unveiled already. Engadget today got a hold of an internal memo that tries to “wow” us with the features of the Blackberry Storm. Anyway, while the launch date is still yet to be known, some new leaked documents show us why we should be thrilled with the new BlackBerry Storm.
Sources tell Blackberry News that the Blackberry Storm will come in two flavors, the GSM only version for Europe which will launch exclusively with Vodafone in coming months and the other North American flavor with CDMA support, which isheaded for Bell and also as we already know to Verizon soon
Here are the specs from the memo.
- 3.25-inch WITH 480 x 360 display (putting it slightly above the Bold)
- EV-DO Rev. AQuadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE
- 2100MHz UMTS/HSPA
- 1GB onboard memory
- Full QWERTY (landscape) and Suretype Input (portrait)
- High Capacity microSD slot
- 3.2 MP camera with auto-focus, flash, and 2X Zoom
- Blackberry Device Software 4.7
- OTA Software Loading
- HTML Browser with support for attachment downloads and video streaming (via RTSP)
- Editing of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint documents
- Standalone and aGPS (does that mean, GASP, GPS is unlocked?)
- Blackberry Media Sync (non-DRM iTunes media sync)
- Visual Voicemail (available post-launch, bummer!)
- Built-In Facebook/Flikr Support
- Built-In IM support for Yahoo, Google, AOL, and Windows Messenger
- Access to services such as BroadbandAccess, VZ navigator, VCast Music and Video, and VCast MobileTV
Yeah, it’s sounding good so far, but all of these won’t mean anything unless they finally release the Storm to the awaiting public.
