The FCC has approved the latest product of the Hitachi, Casio partnership; an Exilim-branded 8-megapixel camera phone. Comes in a clanshell cellphone design, Casio Exilim W63CA sport a 800 x 480 swivel screen. This Hitachi-Casio phone is going to receive Exilim branding, not unlike the slim line of digital cameras from Casio.Its 8 megapixel sensor is using new new Omnivision sensor, which is never used on any camera phone before. Casio’s taking the same tactic Sony Ericsson does with their Cyber-shot cellphones and placing a camera brand on a high-end camera phone, hopefully to advance both the phone and the camera brand in the US. In any case, this Exilim phone has jumped through the FCC loop.
