The Celio Redfly line of products is quickly growing up, and the new C7 and C8N Smartphone Terminals prove that point. Both adhere to the original REDFLY concept: that smartphone users sometimes want a bigger display and larger keys than are possible on a mobile handset. The Celio REDFLY is billed as the perfect mobile companion to your Windows Mobile device. The REDFLY uses your Windows Mobile smartphone’s CPU and RAM to do all the heavy computing, essentially giving the WinMo device a larger display and keyboard.
the C8N, it sticks with the 8.3-inch display and adds a composite video input that Celio are calling the “REDFLY Media Port”. That mainly allows them to use a proprietary cable and charge you $20 for the privilege of hooking up your iPod, digital camera or other composite-spitting media source. It ships with VGA output for $299
First the Celio Redfly C7 version drops the screen dimensions down to 7 inches for more portability, and while the battery life drops from 8 hours to 5 hours it still offers more battery life than most Netbooks and is easily chargeable using the devices wall charger or the newly released Celio RedFly Car Charger. Those changes in turn allow the device to drop its 2 pound weight by 8 ounces, making the C7 much easier to haul around for business people in the field. The Celio Redfly C7 is selling at a very manageable $229
