As an Advanced Wireless Services (AWS)-capable device, the 1606 is able to take advantage of Cricket’s unlimited data plans. The Nokia 1606 is suitable for consumers looking for enhanced features like Mobile WEB, Games & Apps and text in a slim, sturdy package with a brilliant internal color display.
The 1606 includes an internal antenna, a 128×160 262K color TFT internal display, a 96×32 monochrome external display, a voice memo recorder, and SMS/MMS with predictive text. The device supports talk time of up to 3.5 hours and standby time of up to 11 days—and weighs a mere 2.68 ounces. Other functions and features of the 1606 include a flashlight built into the hinge, an integrated speakerphone and the ability to sync contacts with PCs. The 1606 is available now at Cricket retail stores for nearly $130 without a contract.
