Electronic Arts announces a two-pronged promotion to highlight the history of the Red Alert series and pave the way for this holiday season’s release of the third installment of the C&C RTS spin-off. In celebration of the upcoming Red Alert 3 release, Electronic Arts has released the original Red Alert as a fully free download. There are two downloads, including the Allied Disc and the Soviet Disc. Currently, Red Alert 3 is available in a standard edition at $49.99 and a collectors edition at $64.99. The promotion begins on August 31, 2008, but there hasn’t been any word on when this offer will expire. Also, Electronic Arts is dangling out the carrot for pre-ordering Red Alert 3.
Pre-order from Electronic Arts website right now, and you get a copy of Red Alert 2 for free, starring the lovely Kari Wuhrer (shown to the left) as Tanya, along with that goofy dude behind her. If you want to take part in this offer, click on over to the Red Alert 3 website on that day and you’ll be given instructions on downloading. To download the discs, make sure to get the Allied Disc and the Soviet Disc.
