Emoji on your iPhone

Emoji, Japanese is a set of picture characters used in Japan much in the same way as emoticons in the US.  Now, Emoji icons can be found in the App Store. Emoji icons, which stands for “picture” and “letter” in Japanese, bring colorful, animated icons to your iPhone’s texting capabilities. You can head on over to your local iTunes Store at any time and download the $0.99 FrostyPlace application to get this keyboard on your iPhone. Emoji pictographs include the usual suspects from the emoticon gang as well as many others. Such gems as the top hat, a diamond ring for “txting” your wedding proposal, and also some holiday goodies like Santa, and a ghost are all part of the fun!

Users can quit FrostyPlace, then visit the Settings app and drill down to General > International > Keyboards > Japanese. There you should see an Emoji setting you can enable, which will add a new ulterior keyboard button between the number button and space bar in the iPhone keyboard. Tap it and you can now add a world of Emoji icons to just about any Apple or third-party app that runs on the iPhone including SMS.
