Fly DS400 and DS500 dual-sim phones are just low-cost options

Fly Mobile might not has the big name in the handset industry, however this doesn’t stop the company from releasing new products. Fly extended family of dual-sim apparatus and introduced in Russia monoblock Fly DS400 and slider Fly DS500. The latest two phones to come under the Fly brand are both packing dual SIM capabilities, hence allowing users to put two SIM cards at the same time in any of them. Despite the “nepotism”, new phones Fly DS400 and Fly DS500 quite different - in design, function and in its “buyer”.

Fly DS500 comes in a slider form factor and has a nice overall look, although it’s one that we’ve seen in quite many other handsets released so far. Its features include GSM and DCS connectivity (900 / 1800 / 1900 for the first SIM card and 900 / 1800 for the second one), a 2.2 inch TFT touchscreen display with 262K colors and 240 x 320 pixels, Music player with equalizer, Video player, Bluetooth with A2DP, a 2 Megapixel camera with video recording, email and Web capabilities, flashlight, 8MB of internal memory and support for microSD cards. The handset weighs 110 grams and, when not slid, it measures 110 × 50 × 15.5 millimeters. The battery that DS500 relies on is a 900 mAh one that can provide up to 3 hours of talk-time or up to 220 hours of stand-by time.

Fly DS400 is a simple candybar that brings fewer features, including a 2 inch TFT display with 176 x 220 pixels and 262K colors, dual-band GSM connectivity for both of its SIM cards (900 / 1800 MHz), a 1.3 Megapixel camera, Music player and so on. The DS400 measures 109.5 x 47.5 x 16.1 millimeters, weighs 96.5 grams and comes with an 800 mAh battery said to provide a talk-time between 3 and 7 hours or a stand-by time between 70 and 100 hours.

Retailing for 4700 rubles and 6500 rubles respectively, the DS400 and DS500 are, like they say, low-cost options for non-fussy users.
