It has been long rumor that Google would make a Gphone,with its own hardware device. Finally the rumor is squashed by Google with an announcement of the Open Handset Alliance and Android. Android is a software platform that it is promoting in partnership with 50 odd companies. Google has never said they wouldn’t build their own phone exactly, but when they wrote last November that they were not announcing a Gphone at that time, most of the speculation died down. The announcement of Open Handset Alliance and Android for Gphone, makes the rumor back in full force. The image represents the work of San Fransisco-based product design and development firm Ammunition Design Group. Ammunition Design Group has designed computers, mobile phones, hardware, and other devices for companies like Palm, Hewlett-Packard, Dell Computer, and Logitech. Now, it may be working with Google to create an Android-based, Google branded Gphone. A good source swearing that Ammunition Group is designing the Gphone and that it is a seriously beautiful device.
