HTC are prepping a WiMAX/GSM-enabled device - the HTC T8290 - to allow even more flexible wireless internet access. The HTC T8290 has been leaked, and this highly angular handset was specially designed for Russia’s Yota WiMAX network, which means you ought to remain connected online in most places with WiMAX coverage, allowing you to surf at broadband speeds without relying on spotty 3G connectivity
It’s got that beautiful 800×480 screen, WiFi to back up the other radios, and Bluetooth (naturally).WiMAX is loaded to the teeth with a massive 3.8″ 480 x 800 WVGA display, WiMAX + GSM, 802.11g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 and video calling capabilities. Sources suggest that Russia’s Yota will be selling it shortly. Availability in other countries is still a question mark.
