
Vodafone UK is the latest carrier to announce its plans to offer the HTC Touch Diamond to its subscribers. Vodafone, the second largest mobile operator in the world, has set up a web page showing that it is ‘coming soon’ on their Business Shop web site. Though it’s still marked as coming soon, there is confirmation that there will be a bluetooth handsfree bundled together with it. It is similar to other phones offered in the business section. It should be available around July in spite of the fact that Touch Diamond is already available from several other European and Asian carriers.
Feature rich Windows Mobile 6.1 device utilising HTC’s new Touchflow UI. This device is in a tablet form factor meaning it is touch screen only. The Diamond transcends the iPhone in all aspects, the key differentiator is the inherent flexibility of the Diamond. It comes loaded with Vodafone Email Plus and the Vodafone Sat Nav program. The Diamond measures only 102 x 51 x 11.5 millimeters. It comes packed with with lots of nice things like: a 2.8 inch TFT touchscreen display with a VGA resolution (480 x 640 pixels) and handwriting recognition, a TouchFlo 3D user interface, accelerometer, tri-band GSM and dual-band HSDPA connectivity, 4GB of internal memory, Wi-Fi, GPS and A-GPS, Pocket Office, email, HTML browser, Music player, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, FM radio with RDS, miniUSB, a 528 Mhz processor, a 3.15 Megapixel camera and a secondary video-call camera.
