HTC have announced their latest US smartphone, the HTC S743. The smartphone is the North American version of HTC S740, thus it comes with HSDPA support on the 850 and 1900 MHz frequencies.The handset runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard, and while lacking a touchscreen has both a numeric keypad and slide-out full QWERTY keyboard.With its full QWERTY keyboard, the HTC S743 is able to take advantage of its full suite of messaging options.
It will run Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard on a 528 MHz processor, and have a generous 256 MB of RAM, 256 MB of Flash ROM, and a microSD card slot. This HTC model will also include a 3.2 MPx camera and a GPS receiver. Overall, it will be 4.6 inches tall, 1.7 inches wide, and 0.65 inches thick (116.3 mm by 43.4 mm by 16.3 mm), and weigh 4.9 ounces (140 g) with its battery installed. The HTC S743 will go on sale in Q1 2009.
