Spotify has reportedly teamed up with the country’s telecommunications and cable provider, Telia, which will bring the handset and new Spotify-branded services for TV and computers. The company already creates phones with tight integrations to social networking services like Facebook, Skype and Windows Live Messenger. It would be interesting to see ho wthis handset will be integrated into Spotify’s other portfolios which include a downloadable music player that enables users to access a host of streaming songs from major and independant labels.
Both INQ and Spotify are backed by Li Ka-Shing, one of the wealthiest persons on Earth which also happens to be interested in mobile technology and social networking. It’s to be presumed that the cost of a Spotify subscription would be bundled into a tariff by Telia.
