Apple might plug in 802.11n WiFi in the upcoming 4th Gen iPhone . According to Giz, it looks like iPhone 4G might have built in support for 802.11n WiFi. The rumor is rooted in an older Apple job listing for a “Wifi Software Engineer” capable of adding 802.11a and 802.11n standards to mobile platforms.
Currently 3rd Gen iPhone and iPod touch has the Broadcom BCM4329 chip and is capable of 802.11n but only enabled for the 802.11g. 802.11n is faster than the 802.11g. Do you think that the iPhone 4G and upcoming Apple tablet will be sporting 802.11n Wi-Fi, or will we have to continue waiting in order to get 802.11n Wi-Fi in the iPhone? We’ll know more before Apple’s expected iPhone announcement in mid-2010.
