The iYo is a yoyo-powered induction charger for your iPhone. It definitely brings more fun to charging your iPhone as what you need to do is to keep playing with the yoyo and it’ll produce electricity for juicing up your iPhone. Basically the iYo converts the mechanical energy of the yo-yo into electrical energy and delivers it to your device.
The concept occurred to Swedish designer Peter Thuvander when he realized solar power wasn’t the best green option for charging his iPhone in a country that averages less than eight hours of sunlight a day in eight months of the year (one hour in November, December and January). The generator is similar to that of Gizoo’s wind up universal remote. The colorful schematic also shows you clearly the internal structure of the iYo induction charger – how the magnet, rotating shells and batteries are arranged, so you could grab a picture on how the electricity is produced by induction while the shells and magnet are rotating.
Then once you’ve played enough to give the battery a good charge, you connect your iPhone or whatever to the iYo’s USB port and the power is transferred into the device. And also take a look at the yoyo action in the video  to know more about how it works.  No word on whether he’s going to bring this to market, but it’s a rather interesting idea nonetheless.
