French company Kapsys will soon launch a mini portable GPS navigation called Kapten. Kapsys’ kapten presents a GPS navigation system that all instruction given to this is done via vocal commands. The Kapsys Kapten, the first GPS navigator is without a screen at all. The tiny 74×44×13 mm device weighs in at a feather-like 50 grams and all navigation is done through text-to-speech and voice recognition. It’s designed mainly for pedestrians who need directions, and also includes a text-to-speech feature. It might also help you keep your eyes on the road. TeleAtlas will offer the map information, while Kapsys provides still more city-related information on their website. Inside you will find a Bluetooth chipset in there, alongside an MP3 player and FM radio, and it packs 4GB of internal memory. The Kapsys Kapten will be out in the middle of next month for approximately 150€.
