Lenovo today unveiled the IdeaPad S10, company’s first low-cost ultraportable laptop. The 10 inch screen will display 1024 x 600 pixels, which is pretty much par for the course these days. It comes in black, red or white and measures a respectable 250×183x28mm and is 22mm at its slimmest. The lightest configuration weighs in at 1.1 kg. Lenovo promises a spacious keyboard, 85% of full size.
The IdeaPad S10 will be available in two options, one with an 80GB hard drive and 512MB of RAM for $399 and the second with a 160GB hard drive and 1GB of RAM for $449. Like other Atom netbooks, the new Ideapad features Intel’s N270 Atom CPU and 945GSE chipset and up to 2GB of memory. It has LAN, Bluetooth, 4 in 1 card reader, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Ethernet, stereo speakers, built-in 1.3-megapixel webcam, a multi-touch trackpad. It also has an internal Express card slot for WWAN expansion, and this is a first on netbooks. The IdeaPad S10, which is going to be available beginning in September
