LG licenses Dolby Mobile technologies

 LG licenses Dolby Mobile technologies

LG Electronics and Dolby has announced that LG would be the first handset maker to incorporate Dolby Mobile into handsets bound for the global market. LG and Dolby Laboratories has signed an agreement that grants LG a license to embed Dolby Mobile technology into its handsets. Dolby Mobile is designed to allow customers to optimize and tailor audio for an enhanced entertainment experience. LG plans to apply Dolby Mobile technology to a wide range of multimedia features on its phones. Dolby’s suite of audio processing products for the mobile world includes surround sound, bass and high-frequency enhancement, volume leveling, graphic equalization by substance type, and a magical mono-to-stereo converter — nothing really revolutionary, but the Dolby name carries a lot of weight, and it’ll be good to see phone makers consulting with some legit audio experts to help improve the experience. Dolby tech into LG’s lineup might grease things up a bit.
