    I purchased this phone, not even thirty days ago assuming that it would be a quality phone. This is not the case. I never dropped this phone, nor was I rough or hard on it. However, apparently some sort of pressure that was supposedly applied to the screen, caused the entire screen to no longer function. Worse than this, both LG and your mobile provider deem this physical damage and will not replace or fix the phone. The touch screen, compromises the entire function of the phone, since it causes the screen to not be able to handle any sort of pressure. I strongly suggest that you do not invest in this phone, though it may have many interesting features, the quality is extremely poor.

  2. Adrian Says:

    I thought a touch screen would be nice. Boy was I jipped! Easy dialing my ass! All you get is the ability to punch in a number and filter using that or type in a name using the old style typing (abc = 2, def = 3, etc). That makes the touch screen all but useless! Can’t use the touch screen for anything else that is useful, say like selecting an icon or text menu item (such as a person you want to call)? Ohhh, how about moving the text cursor? Yeah, I know that am asking the world here and it is crazy for anyone to think that would be the case.

    Who knew?

    Other things I dislike: no data cable or head set (with out which means no radio). Softkeys not reprogrammable. MicroSD card has been crippled too so that you cannot browse your entire card (possibly making it not find my MP3s?).

    One thing I do like about this phone, I can return it to Fido for full refund! :D

  3. Adrian Says:

    I just reread the stuff it comes with above:

    It also comes with:
    * LG TE365F handset
    * 800 mAh battery
    * Travel charger
    * Stereo headset
    * USB cable and CD
    * Fido Smart card
    * Get to know Fido guide
    * User manuals (EN/FR) (Getting started guide)

    If Rogers is giving this stuff, why isn’t Fido?

  4. carole Says:

    I had purchased this cell phone through fido, and I see, it states, USB cable and CD…… BULL!!!!! I can’t even get the cables or nothing. It comes with a radio, of which is useless without the headphones… I like the phone, but come on guys, at least include the extra cables so a person can use it to its fullest potential.

    I think i am going to phone Fido and say Hey, wheres my cable, you advertise its suppose to come with it!!!

  5. Keely Says:

    I bought this phone recently in Canada through Fido and I got the USB cable, Cd and everything else it says. I must say that it seems to be way better then in the states. It works really well and I am very happy with it, except for the touch screen part. You can only touch the dialing numbers on the screen, nothing else.

  6. Paul Says:

    I bought this phone through fido like everyone else, which means that we all bought it in Canada. Also. like everyone else. except for Keely, I did not get the data cable or the CD. What dishonesty!!!

  7. Yvonne Says:

    I just got this phone yesterday and it didn’t come with cable or the CD but I looked on the official fido website. It doesn’t say anything about the cable nor the CD. I think maybe this description is diffirent from the official one? Anyways I was so disappointed that there was not a cable and for some reason the phone can’t read anything from the SD memory card. Maybe the format? Just weird.

  8. Adrian Says:

    No, not the format. The files must be in one of the directories it recognizes. Don’t remember off hand. Try inserting your SD card and go to external memory. It will list the directories it recognizes. All other directories are ignored. Stupid huh? Piece of cr*p!

  9. David Says:

    Some of these comments are funny.
    First of all, Fido advertises the touchscreen as touchdialing, and nothing else, so why would you expect anything more. It’s an entry level phone. Also about the SD, you have to go into your phone settings and REFORMAT it, just like you have to with a lot of other devices. Then it will work. It worked for me and the other 5 I knew had this phone. Fido also doesn’t say it comes with the stereo headset on the website, but the box package is different. And the data cable is actually integrated with the phone charger. The phone charger is 2 piece, the USB cable, and the wall adaptor. Aha ;)

    I personally think this phone is fine. Except for a few quirks like it’s build quality (feels fragile) and non-editable softkeys.

  10. Yvonne Says:

    Ok. I just checked my charger and it is totally ONE PIECE. And the reason why it doesn’t read my SD card is bcuz my old phone creates its own style of folders and the stuff was store in those folders and the new phone doesn’t recognize those. Still don’t really like this phone. I had motorola K1 before it was little bit slow on typing but was fine. But on this neon when I try to type a long MSG faster it just skips letters and stuff. And when I drop the phone it went off…… Like weird. Cuz my old phone was so much stronger.

  11. David Says:

    Hmm.
    I definitely got a 2-piece charger and headset, just not a CD. I’ve dropped my phone on the sidewalk 3 times while getting it out of my pocket and except for a scratch on the corner, it’s fine.
    Newer phones are more fragile because they are slimline. Of course an older phone would be durable.
    And to fix your memory card, go into settings, external memory, and REFORMAT. My older phone also had different folders as well, but reformatting your SD card erases everything and puts folders the Neon will recognize on it instead.
    You clearly do not understand what formatting is, I explained it in my last post.

  12. Yvonne Says:

    Well the thing is my comp broke down and then my phone I was expecting to just send all the pics from SD card to my email cuz I took a lot of pics with ok’d phone and all the pics r on the card. Anyways what really pisses me off is when the battery is low. The phone keeps vibrating if it’s on vibrate mode or keep beeping like every minute on generL mode. Isn’t it just a waste of energy when the phone is dying already

  13. Yvonne Says:

    So basically this phone only reads data in root folders. And when the fido ppl opened the box and put my sim card in. The phone did not recognize my sim card. And similar things happened so many times.

  14. David Says:

    My phone battery is quite good. It’s rated at the standard battery life, 5.5 hours. CNET rated it at 8 hours, and it’s an extremely trusted and popular source. The phone will obviously vibrate in vibrate mode. Something’s happening, or you have a faulty phone. Of course the phone reads things out of it own folders. That’s a standard on phones. Drag things to their correct folders.
    If it doesn’t recognize your SIM card, you’ve gotten the phone pieces dirty. My phone has NEVER had a problem. When it doesn’t recognize your SIM, you have tried to bypass the phone’s security functions and failed, otherwise, it’s Fido that is at fault.
    A lot of the complaining on here is not reasonable, and based on incidents that they have made to happen by themselves by being uncareful. The touchscreen is extrememly sensitive, so you don’t have to press into it that hard. It NEVER stated that it came with any extra things back then. They do now, but not back then. Stop complaining because your stupid, people.

  15. Max Says:

    David, what planet are you from? Not giving access to the files in the micro SD card other then very specific ones is stupid. If I transfer the micro SD card from one place to another, why the hell should I not be able to access all the files? If it has a place that it likes to find them, fine. To cripple access to the SD card so you can’t see other sections is a vain attempt to enforce things that they have no business enforcing. I definitely know that Nokia allows for browsing the *ENTIRE* SD card. Too bad that their OS kept crashing on me otherwise I would have stuck with them. :(

    Their inability to backup contacts and its calendar is also poor. Yeah, I can store the contacts on my SIM card, but why would I want to do that when the SIM standard doesn’t allow for storing other info like address, phone type, etc. Just damn wasteful.

    There may be a few unreasonable complaints, but most are valid.

  16. Yvonne Says:

    So you think taking the last energy to vibrate every 2 min is better than saving it for a call later? This is real funny

  17. Yvonne Says:

    And seems like ur the only one got a “two-piece” charger??

  18. lol Says:

    lmao, you guys are helarious, you guys know both Rogers and Fido lock their phones both networkwise and systemwise, and yet still spend your money and time exploring this signed *trap*. If you have such high expectations for your phones, then it’s either imports or high-ends for north america, no other way around it. If spending $300-$500 on a phone seems insanely dimwitted to you then i’m sorry you’re stuck with your complaints and etc.

  19. Wayne Says:

    Anyone know how to make the phone list the default contact list?

  20. Krystle Says:

    The only thing I received with the LG Neon is the charger and headphones. Where can I get the USB cable? My memory card also will not work. Every time I select External Memory to reformat it a message is displayed that says “Bad Format Error”. What should I do?

  21. gary Says:

    Hey this phone is pretty damn good I know i paid $200 for it but thats because i needed a new phone and iam on a 3 year contract and i have only been on it for a little over a year now so now upgrade. Ok no problems with the phone i drop it 3 or 4 times on the floor to sidewalk and yeah i got scratches but nothing went wrong on the phone and the screen didn’t crack hahaha which i find its a hardcore phone its not made cheap i find it works fine the only problem is that i can’t put flash wallpaper and also i can’t put themes on the phone i have no idea how to do so. if anyone can help me with that i would like that. My phone came with a headset battery and one piece charger i got my phone here at the rogers store in montreal quebec and i love it. The only thing i want is flash wallpaper why can i put that on my phone i have no problem with the card. I bought a $20 4gb HP microSD card and i didnt had to format it. it detected it good but i did format it on the phone so that it will be good in the long run i put mp3’s in my sound folder and pictures in the image folder and i see everything on my card. I have a card reader so that was useful no need in a fuckin’ USB and stop crying about the phone its a normal phone with just a a dialing touch screen and a kick ass screen 2.4″ other then that its basic.

    I love the phone in 2 more years iam gonna get a iPhone or maybe the LG Dare! anyways thanks for listen and have a good day.

  22. 32gb SD Card Says:

    Nice post. Thanks for sharing these tips.

  23. Babi Says:

    I bought TE365 via ROGERS, with a headset and a charger included. I must confess that I was fooled by it’s appearance, and actually there are some pitfalls on it that has made me to throw it away looking for a new better one:
    1- It is impossible to install applications on it unless you buy rogers internet account. I’ve got a set of dictionaries, ALAS, I can’t install them cos it only installs applications from damned rogers things…
    2- The MP3 player sucks. After each track you gotta swich to the next one manually! What a pitty! moreover, there is nothing like an equalizer on it which can make some trouble with low frequencies of guitar base!!!
    3- If you haven’t purchases one I do not recomment it. Actually I hate this cellphone.

  24. David Says:

    @Babi

    Tracks DO switch over to the next song. You’re not playing them in your MP3 player, your playing them in your external memory folder. LOL. Menu>Tools>MP3
    And the equalizer can be found by opening the MP3 Player, and then go into SETTINGS, and the equalizer is there.

    At least google things before you shittalk about things. As for applications, it’s your fault. Phones are generally supporting only of their own applications. Applications don’t work across all phones. It was your responsibility to ask about this. That’s like buying an iPhone app and expecting it to work on a Nokia. And then complaining about how Nokia doesn’t support apps.

  25. David Says:

    I find a lot of people here to base their reviews around the anger felt with unfortunate experiences of the phone. So let’s say you don’t know how to work the phone’s MP3 player (Babi), and then start talking trash about it, and about the phone. Not so good.
    Here’s an honest review.

    I purchased this phone at the end of summer 2009, it came with the basics, battery, charger, headset, and of course the phone.

    The phone is generally well built and ergonomic, although it has edges that my be uncomfortable for users with bigger hands. My first impression was that it had an excellent keyboard, well spaced and defined keys, and an overall stylish look for a budget qwerty. Because it’s a budget phone, it doesn’t fall heavy on features. It has basic alrm clock, memos, calendar, calculator functions and such. It has an email/IM client, depending on your carrier. The web browser is extremely slow and not useful. User interface was simple and easy to navigate.

    Through simple use I was quickly learning about the phone. It wasn’t as fragile as I thought it would be according to reviews and rants on the internet. I dropped it much more than 10 times in 3 months, and it works fine. It had small unoticable dents all around the black plastic bezel of the front half of the phone.

    The user interface, although simple, is extremely glitchy. The phone will turn off at random times. This has happened ten times in a day, to once every week. It also turns off when it feels things are getting to intensive for it. Like web browsing, playing music and texting simultaneously. It is very slow. It takes a second for it to register keystrokes, and the screen constantly freezes.
    The keyboard shift key toggles itself on and off when typing gets too quick. Quick typing also results in many keys not being recognized quickly enough. For example; you could be trying to say “Hello” but end up with “Hel”.
    It takes a while getting used to, but I don’t reccomend this phone.

    Battery life has been claimed by proffesional viewers to last 5 days without recharging. For me, a textaholic (4000-5000 a month, 150 a day, it lasts typically 36 hours. I always charge it before I go to sleep at 11, and I wake up at 7 and unplug it. It has 2 out of 3 battery bars left.
    The LG Rumour 2, with a richer interface more features, a smaller screen and

    help?

    I picked this phone out for my daughter to mainly use for texting and talking to our extended family on the weekends. It’s been perfect for that.

    She’s about to go visit family over the holidays so I’ve been trying to transfer music for her as she’s got a 10 hour drive. The phone came w/ a wall charger — no headphones or USB cable. We had a 256mb micro SD card (so small, I’ve placed an order for a 4G) that we weren’t using so in her phone it went. It seemed to work but now it’s not. It may have been something she did but the songs are listed but you can’t play them; or delete them: says “file not found!”. When you go into memory settings and click on memory card, it says to insert it.
    My worry is that I may be wasting my money if the phone “destroys” the new memory card??
    Was just wondering if anyone else had this problem or any ideas how to get around it.

    Also, a friend gave me an old USB cord they had lying around. I can transfer 4 songs onto her phone but we can’t find them on the phone. But when I reconnect the phone to Windows Media Player and have it play what’s on the phone, it plays the songs I’d transferred.
    Thank you!

  27. Nick Says:

    I don’t know what everyone is groaning about. Phone works great, the touchscreen dialing isn’t that difficult and besides this phone was MADE FOR TEXTING. You shouldn’t complain about crap like that. Yeah the phone doesn’t come with everything, CD and USB Cable? What for? This phone doesn’t come with external memory, if you want to transfer stuff to your phone you can buy the external memory card for under $30 at Best Buy. I did it and I’m happy. Plus I got the phone for free and I have a $15 contract..I’m saying thank you to fido. Remember, if you do a lot of texting this phone is great! I can’t believe how many people complain about not having a usb cable..man, shut up.

  28. karine Says:

    Don’t purchase this phone. I got mine from fido i use it for 2 month and the screen crack for no reason i lost 190$ the cellphone are not in waranty anymore because of that. Fido can repare it but for 90$ so that the last time a purchase a phone from LG trust me!!!
