Modu has confirmed to Pocket-lint that it is working on a new touchscreen device which it plans to launch in the UK, US, Japan and Western Europe in 2010. While Modu’s first mobile phone is still launched only in Israel – the company’s home country.The model will come with the same dock connector as the current model, however be a very different form factor. The Modu 2 will get also 3.5G connectivity, in addition to the touchscreen. Users can probably add a QWERTY keyboard simply by getting a new jacket.
There have been only 1,000 units sold until now across Israel. However, a full launch should follow soon, in markets like India, Philippines, Russia, Greece, Romania, and several South American countries.
