The Motorola Droid has so far only been confirmed for Verizon Wireless. Today, the folks over at MobileCrunch have been tipped to some solid evidence that a GSM Motorola Droid/Sholes/Tao is headed to AT&T with full 3G support!.
Droid listing the bands used by AT&T (WCDMA 850/1900/2100) as well as GSM 850/900/1800/1900. This makes the phone compatible with both AT&T and Rogers. Many Latin American carriers also use the standards. None of the filing provides a sign of when or in which areas the HSPA-capable Droid would run.
Hopefully, the Motorola Sholes will indeed come to more carriers in the US, and to a wide range of operators around the world. Motorola Droid is proving to be one of the best Android phones that would come to the market in 2009.
