Motorola unveiled on Thursday in South Korea a new version of its PEBL cell phone. The new PEBL is surely a good-looking handset. It is coming in a fancy purple color. At first glance the handset doesn’t appear to have an external display but like some other recent phones from competitors it’s hidden under the outside case. When buttons on the phone are pressed, the case appears to come to life with illumination.
The clamshell phone sports a 2.2-inch display with 320×240 (QVGA) resolution, and support for 262,000 colors. A hidden CLI display on the outside panel displays less detailed information. The new PEBL will be offered by SK Telecom and it will feature fast 3G connections with HSDPA speeds of 7.2MBps. To entertain you it features music player, a 3.5mm headset jack, as well Bluetooth 2.0, a 2 Megapixel camera with video recording, secondary camera for video-calls and expandable memory. Its battery is a 950 mAh one, capable of providing up to 200 minutes of talk-time, up to 240 hours of GSM stand-by time, and up to 130 hours of 3G stand-by time. And of course, the new Motorola PEBL is only available for Korean SKT customers. No words about pricing were announced.
