Motorola has announced the latest version of the Q Global, now including Windows Media 6.1. With the new capabilities of WM 6. now, the Motorola Q9h in gray flashy silver has apparently turned out to be a ‘new’ device from Motorola called the Q Global. The Q Global and the Q9h aside from the on-board GPS that now has access to AT&T Navigator. Motorola is developing its Q line to compete with the variety of smartphones being released by companies like RIM, Apple, and HTC. The operating system was refined, adding capabilities, streamlining functions, and improving security.
Mix this together with the already incredibly QWERT keyboard, 1.3MP camera, aGPS, Opera browser and Documents To Go and you have yourself one incredibly powerful device in a tiny sleek form factor. The Q Global has CrystalTalk technology, claimed by Motorola to reduce unwanted noise. The updated operating system now allows use of ATT&T’s video share service and uploading to Windows Live Space. TV-out is now included in the OS. Content from Internet Explorer can now be cut and pasted, or the browser window zoomed in/out. The looks have been changed to silver and chrome with gray accents. Assisted GPS capability is included for location based services. Motorola is clearly pricing the new phone to compete with Apple’s $200 release of the iPhone 3G. AT&T will be selling the phone for $150 with a 2-year contract, $100 less than the previous version.
