Neo succeeded giving us its unique concept phone with its offering of the Neo 808i, The Neo Ellipse is the second in line of cell phones designed by Neo DWC-LLC that seems to give us the impression yet again. In Dubai, the Neo Ellipse has a pre launch event held by Neo DWC-LLC, the UK & Dubai based mobile phone brand. Dubbed as a “phone that resembles a sculpture,” the Neo Ellipse has a polished finish with a chrome center spine which adds to its elegance. At only 110 x 44 x 15mm with each end tapering down to just 3mm, the Neo Ellipse is one of the first devices in a very long time that we consider revolutionary in style.
“We have started sales this month into the major retail chains like Hotspots, Cellucom and The Phone Store,” says Amjad Ali, Senior Vice President of Neo DWC-LLC. He continues to say, “It has taken us some time to enter this market but now that we are in, our design driven brand will add some flavor to the Indian mobile phone market.”
Neo is currently only available in Hong Kong, Bangalore, New Dehli and Mumbai, but with a successful launch they might start seeing more locations on the grid. As for specs, although not everything was revealed, this masterpiece has a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, a 2-inch TFT display, Bluetooth, email, web browser, 1GB of internal memory with an additional 8GB via microSD expansion, and a media player. The handset is supposedly designed for quad-band usage, but it is not revealed whether 3G has been included. The price isn’t mentioned but the company “warns” us that, besides the Ellipse, it will introduce three other new phones by the end of 2008.
