Nokia announces their First Cseries Device; The Nokia C5

Nokia has  announced the first smartphone in the Nokia C Series, the Nokia C5 at CeBIT  in Hannover Germany.  The Nokia C5 is an affordable Symbian S60 3rd Edition smartphone, with support for Ovi Maps 3.0 (with free walk and drive navigation) and Nokia Messaging.

The Nokia C5 is also  optimized for social networking and sharing.  The homescreen will show off your favourite three friends for easy access to calling and messaging whilst Nokia Messaging enables you to keep in touch on IM using Google Talk or Windows Live Messenger. The Nokia C5 also provides fast web browsing, allowing easy access to favorite Internet sites, Ovi Music*) and a range of applications through the Ovi Store.

Spec wise the Nokia C5 offers up a 2.2 inch display with a home screen which allows the placement of your 3 favourite contacts, a 3.2 megapixel camera, FM radio, 50MB of memory, 3.5mm jack and microSD expansion up to 16GB. The dimensions are  just over 12mm thin and 46mm across (and 112mm high). Battery life is good for up to 12 hours talktime (GSM) and it’ll stay on standby for a whopping 26 days between charges. The phone is available in white and warm grey. Nokia C5 will be available starting the second quarter of 2010. Its retail price: €135 ($183).
