Nokia launches new S60 email client in Beta Labs

Nokia launched a beta email service, based on its acquisition of Intellisync, at mail.nokia.com. Nokia purchased Intellisync in 2005, the service promise simplier mobile access to email accounts from Google, Yahoo or other ISPs but left off Hotmail and corporate email from the list. The service has been launched without much fanfare though once off beta testing, the company plans to collaborate with carriers and charge the user a monthly subscription fee for the use of the service. To set up the service, users only have to enter an email address and password, to view, read, forward, delete, compose and send emails from their S60-based mobile phone. The service says it can also handle downloading or uploading attachments, and will ‘push’ mail to you. Nokia Email currently only allows one mailbox to be setup, though we hope multiple accounts will be supported in the future.
