Nokia Locate Sensor launched at CES

Nokia Locate Sensor has just made its debut at CES 2009. The brainchild of the folk over at the Nokia Research Center, Locate Sensor is a prototype service designed to help ensure you never lose anything. It semms that Nokia didn’t have anything groundbreaking to announce at CES. The Nokia Locate Sensor is a little handy gadget which you can attach to your prized possesions, such as your keys, glasses, or even your laptop bag etc. Then if you misplaced any of these, you can use your Nokia device to locate them

Local Sensor uses a direct wireless connection between devices, tags and positioning stations, and also works indoors where GPS is not available. It transmits a simple but strong signal with range of up to 100 meters, and as it doesn’t use GPS it can be used indoors, it works through walls and floors without huge battery computation. Nokia Local Sensor allows you to locate lost items quickly and easily and it consist of two parts, the monitoring application on your phone and the receiver adheres to your keys or maybe to your priceless possession, briefcases, purses, or any other cherished personal items. This is all conceptual right now, albeit a working prototype rather than pie in the sky idea.
