Nokia N85 shows itself as Nseries’ glossy black sliding phone and being approved by FCC after its first appearance on the Internet in the beginning of June. The N85 comes with support for quad-band GSM frequencies (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) complements it’s world-traveling frequency support with support for 3G data speeds in the 850Mhz, 1900Mhz, and 2100Mhz frequency bands, ensuring that the handset can not only work almost anywhere in the world, but will also have full HSPA-speed data access.
The N85 is similar to the N95 and can be considered as a stripped-down version of the newer N96. It is also a two-way slider, features 5-megapixel auto-focus camera with dual-LED flash and is in the new for the manufacturer design language, known from N78 and N96. We expect that the N85 will run on the latest version of the S60 interface, just as the N96. We’ll have to wait and see how the Nokia N85 shapes up in the coming weeks and months.
