In an effort to help travellers everywhere, Nokia (NYSE: NOK) and Lonely Planet have teamed up to distribute Lonely Planet content via Nokia Maps. Travellers can purchase and download the city guides so that they have information at their fingertips whilst they are on the road. More than 100 popular tourist locations provided by Lonely Plane. The city guides in Lonely Planet are stuffed with granular detail on every location, with info ranging from the best places to lay your head at night, to popular sights and the must-visit places to catch a bite to eat.
“It will help all those questions which travelers frequently have on the road such as ‘What should I explore today’ or ‘where should I go for dinner tonight?’” said Stephen Palmer, Lonely Planet CEO.
Downloads are available in the Extras menu on Nokia phones. Â Each mini guide is available as a single add-on that you can suck into Nokia Maps 2.0 for a one-off charge of EUR 7.99, which you can access in the Guides section in the Extras menu.
