Informed speculation is that the upcoming HTC Hero Android phone will be exclusive to Orange UK. If this proves true, it would be the provider’s first Android-based handset, and is expected to be released sometime in 2009. The HTC Hero will feature HSDPA connectivity, bluetooth, a 3-mega-pixel camera, and more importantly a custom built HTC user interface. The device is said to be hitting the USA in August, but currently we have no date lined up for the UK landing. Also, Vodafone have already snapped up the exclusivity of the second Android powered phone, the HTC Magic, which was launched in on 1 May. No pricing information has been released for the phone.
Even more interesting, although this could be speculation, is that by the end of this year, Orange, in addition to HTC, plans to have Android phones from Motorola, LG, Samsung and Sony Ericsson
