Motorola CLIQ 1.3.18 firmware update – in fast forward!

Motorola launched a new official software update for Motorola CLIQ. The update 1.3.18 which was released over the air for all users of the Motorola Cliq on T Mobile. The main improvements are in prolonging battery life, improvements in touchscreen sensitivity, a new battery management feature allowing you to customize battery options called Battery Management, improved caller connectivity , accelerometer improvements, a faster GPS response seen in your apps, compatibility to play more media formats.

A software Bluetooth change will let OEM Bluetooth car kits display names of incoming callers, viewing call history and syncing the phone book so calls can be made over the car’s interface. Users can also listen to visual voicemail over Bluetooth. SIM Card Management – Import, export or delete contacts individually or in groups.

Furthermore Motorola has added the latest available versions of Google apps like Maps, Talk, YouTube, Market and more. Also updated was Quickoffice which allows to read, edit or create Microsoft Office documents with the latest, preloaded version of Quickoffice. Source.

Samsung Caliber lands at MetroPCS

Samsung has officially introduced its touchscreen mobile phone, namely Samsung Caliber R860. Already available with U.S. Cellular, the Caliber is a touch-screen device with Samsung’s TouchWiz interface. MetroPCS will begin selling the Caliber today for $249 online and in MetroPCS stores
Specs-wise, the handset is equipped with a 3.2-inch WQVGA touchscreen display, a 3MP camera with flash, Samsung’s TouchWiz UI, a microSD card slot (up to 16GB), Bluetooth, a 1080 mAh battery and supports CDMA (1×800/1900 MHz) connectivity.
The Samsung Caliber R860 has features full HTML web browser, Customizable Widgets, E-mail and Mobile IM applications, Bluetooth, advanced voice recognition, Metro 411 Directory Assistance, integrated popular social networking site such as Facebook or MySpace. The dimensions of Samsung SCH-r860 are 2.2×4.5×0.47 inches and weight 3.74 ounces.

LG GW620 launched in Italy as LG LinkMe

The LG GW620 has  been launched in Italy, as LG LinkMe while in the UK was known as LG InTouch Max and available since last month. It is running on Android 1.5 and upgradeable to Android 1.6 OS. The LG GW620 is a smartphone equipped with a retractable QWERTY keyboard, ideal for those who make the text messages and mobile email. Also, the phone has features a 3-inch HVGA resistive touchscreen display.
LG LinkMe (LG GW620) comes with full HTML browser, A-GPS, WiFi, HSDPA up to 7.2Mbps, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a 5MP camera with flash and autofocus.
LG linkme integrates LinkBook that allows you to associate to each contact the respective community (Facebook and Twitter) and see status updates, photos and post comments without opening new applications. In Italy, the phone costs €299 (about $405).

Motorola Quench Ready for March Launch Via TIM Brazil

Officially unveiled during MWC 2010, the Motorola Quench / Cliq XT will be available soon in Brazil. This company is the country’s third largest mobile carrier, with over 40 million subscribers. Motorola Quench (Motorola Cliq XT) comes with MotoBlur but lack hardware QWERTY keyboard.
