Google is engaging with Taiwan’s High Tech Computer (HTC) Corp to design and manufacture the cell phone. The Wall Street Journals reported that Google has spent hundreds of millions of dollars in this project and has courted US and European mobile operators. It’s interesting to see how this develops. Looks like Google is cooking up a Linux-based phone for launch in Q1 2008.
Motorola RAZR2 V9m will dropping on sprint network either late August or September. This cellphone comes with large external LCD screen with QVGA resolution, EVDO support, 2.0 megapixel camera, stereo bluetooth, microSD expansion slot and control music playlist with flip closed.
HTC Polaris comes with Windows Mobile 6 Pro, a 3.5 inch VGA screen, QWERTY keys, 256 / 128 MB ROM and RAM, GPS, 3 megapixel camera with auto focus, and quad-band GSM / GPRS / EDGE HSDPA, in the 2100MHz range. There is also a rumor which said that the phone may also have a digital compass and FM radio. HTC “Polaris” is released on October. HTC polaris price still unknown.
Avantgarde cellphone are powered by Windows Mobile 6 and are housed in African Blackwood and titanium casing. The Avantgarde Sol features a sapphire crystal display. Its keyboard is made of real gold. The sibling in this collection is called Luna, which features laser-etched Roman numerals. These handsets will be released in the fourth quarter of this year.
Samsung SGH-P520 is similar to the LG Prada phone and comes jam packed with a 2.6-inch 262k colors QVGA touchscreen, 3.0 megapixel camera, microSD slot, bluetooth connectivity and WiFi with UMA.
