Palm announced today the Treo Pro on the Vodafone New Zealand network. With its streamlined design and Palm’s ease-of-use innovations layered on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, Treo Pro is a unique combination of sleek simplicity and robust productivity — including email, Wi-Fi and GPS capabilities) — that meets the needs of businesses and end users alike. The new smartphone combines multiple forms of communication and multimedia capabilities with high-speed 3G mobile Internet access, allowing users to access popular websites, such as YouTube, whilst on the move.
In addition, users can use the Treo 500v as a modem for a laptop, so that they can stay connected anywhere within wireless coverage. Users will also be able to access the Vodafone live! portal and its contents, a first for Windows Mobile devices. The device comes with a built-in 2-megapixel camera for capturing photos and video and 150MB of user-available memory, expandable with microSD expansion cards. It also supports stereo Bluetooth and the Microsoft Direct Push Technology to connect directly to Exchange Servers.
