As it promised The Palm Pixi has officially arrived. The Palm Pixi, the second webOS powered smartphone to be announced is available to Sprint customers for $99.99 when purchased with a 2 year agreement, after instant and mail-in rebates.
Sprint’s new edition of the smartphone offers extreme user-friendliness and a sleek design.the Palm Pixi incorporates a 2.6-inch, 320-by-400-pixel, capacitive touchscreen and runs the multi-tasking operating system WebOS. This feature, in fact, enables the device to synchronize wirelessly with online services such as Google, Facebook, Yahoo, and Microsoft Exchange
According to Palm, Ares will give developers a faster way write WebOS applications through a drag-and-drop interface. Senior Vice President of Application Software and Services at Palm; Michael Abbott said that Ares It’s designed to help Web developers make the leap to becoming mobile developers

The Palm Pixi is like an ultra thin and slim version of the old Palm Treo. Connectivity is taken care of by the 3G mobile broadband standard EV-DO. The GPS receiver and Bluetooth are also available, though Wi-Fi specs have not been included. Housing 8 GB of built-in storage, the Palm Pixi also comes with a 2.0 megapixel camera and a 3.5 mm headset jack.
