Philips has a couple of new low-end handset, The Philips 198 and 199. They have have exactly the same design, measuring 99 x 42 x 13.5 mm and weighing only 65 grams. The different is the 199 is equipped with FM radio and headsets. These two candy bar mobile phone pretty much carry the same features as their predecessor, the Philips 192 which was released not too long ago. The Electronics giant is targeting the lower end of the market in Asia and Europe. The Philips 198 and 199 will retail in Asia and Europe$68 and $70 respectively. It has 3 embedded games to keep you company. And It is equipped with simple keypad with 4-way navigation key. They becomes handful of games to pass the time. Connectivity wise, the Philips 198 and 199 remind me of the old Nokia days, where dual-band GSM connectivity was a great feature. Yes, both these mobile phones has GPRS too. They are sported by miniUSB connectivity for charging and data transfer. And these features include;1.5″ CSTN color display at 128 x 128 resolution, 3 pre-loaded games, and Dual band GSM (900/1800MHz).
